The sap may have been cold, but it didn't stop anyone from running.

The Duanesburg Area Community Center recently held its first “Laps for the DACC” fundraiser to raise money for a new pool vacuum.

School leaders can, and must, insist on outward signs of respect, and maybe inward changes will come. Maybe the taunting students will find their heart.

Students were out and about, signing at the Empire State Plaza as a form of light lobbying in Albany on Monday, and constructing a refuge in Schenectady as part of a BOCES Career and Technical Education program.

The Sap Run 5K will be held on Saturday, March 21, starting at Knox Town Hall at 10 a.m.

The Helderberg Hilltowns Association sponsors the race; it’s $25 to sign up. Registration may be made online at www.saprun5k.org.
