State Police have so far determined that two local children were victims, according to spokeswoman Trooper Kerra M. Burns. “He was known to his victims,” she told The Enterprise.

Acting Albany County Supreme Court Judge Roger McDonough in an Oct. 7 decision found a number of Save the Pine Bush’s arguments and requests for relief “to be lacking in merit” and dismissed the case. 

On Tuesday, Oct. 19, the Guilderland girls volleyball team hosted the Troy Flying Horses for senior night at Guilderland High School in Guilderland. The Dutch came out on all cylinders and swept the Flying Horses in straight sets; 25-14, 28-26, 25-16.

On Tuesday morning, Oct. 19, the Guilderland Dutch tennis team fielded two doubles teams and had two singles at the Section 2 individual sectionals held at Central Park tennis courts in Schenectady.

GUILDERLAND — Dr. Demian J. Singleton, an educational leader at the Guilderland schools, inspired both his colleagues and his children to reach beyond the expected.

He died of pancreatic cancer at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021. He was 52.

GUILDERLAND — A woman was seriously injured on Wednesday morning as she walked across Winding Brook Drive near Western Avenue and was struck by a van, police say.

ALTAMONT — A local resident since 1994, Doris “Dori” Ellen (née Knowles) Bode died at her Palm Beach Gardens home in Florida on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021. She was 86.

Her favorite saying was, “The time to be happy is now.”

“She had a knack for bringing a smile to every situation,” her family wrote in a tribute.

GUILDERLAND — Two workers at Guilderland’s Senior Services Center have tested positive for COVID-19, according to a Tuesday afternoon release from the town.
