The American Legion Clarke White Post 589 and its auxiliary, of Preston Hollow, celebrated the 100th anniversary of the legion’s and auxiliary’s founding with a dinner in honor of Veterans Day at the Shell Inn in Rensselaerville on Nov. 10. The Clarke White Post was formed in 1933 and is named after a soldier from Preston Hollow who died in France during World War I. Preparing to cut the cake — decorated in red, white, and blue with the words “Happy 100th Birthday” — are Donna Kropp, president of the auxiliary, and her husband, Tom Kropp, post commander.
