An overtime heartbreaker brings down the Birds

Extra head: Voorheesville and Catholic Central went to overtime last Saturday to decide the Class B soccer championship and the Crusaders topped the Blackbirds, 2 to 1. Clair also headed a ball that hit the post on a scoring chance, and she left the field during overtime because of a bloody mouth.

Anticipating the arrival of the soccer ball are Voorheesville and Catholic Central players during the Class B final in Lansingburgh last Saturday. The Birds lost in overtime, 2 to 1, but beat the number-one ranked team in the state, Schalmont, in the previous round. Voorheesville finished with a 16-3-1 record.
