Hustle: Teddy Brewster, played by Cody Weimer, is hustled on his way by Aunt Abby, played by Emma Mattoon, because he has said too much about the Panama Canal, which he is digging in the basement for reasons that will soon become clear (and surprising).

Kiss: At a dress rehearsal on Nov. 5 for the fall play “Arsenic and Old Lace” at Guilderland High School, Mortimer, played by Reed Gordon, gets just the right reaction from his marriage proposal to Elaine, played by Shannon Deyoe, although their wedding plans will soon need to take a back seat to his gruesome discovery about his aunts. Reed Gordon plays the part that Cary Grant made famous in the Frank Capra film.

Happy times: Martha Brewster, played by Morgan Dempsey, right, talks with her younger brother, Mortimer, played by Reed Gordon, and Mortimer’s soon-to-be-wife Eliane Harper, played by Shannon Deyoe, about the couple’s plans for the evening.

Being cautious: Mortimer Brewster, played by Reed Gordon, looks shocked as his older sisters — Martha, played by Morgan Dempsey, right, and Abby, played by Emma Mattoon — give their reasons for poisoning people that stop in. Their confessions were spurred by Mortimer’s discovery of a body inside a window cabinet.

Calling colleagues: Mortimer Brewster, played by Reed Gordon, talks on the phone with a fellow director in hopes of getting an understudy because he is unable to attend the play for that evening after making a gruesome discovery earlier in the day.

Sniffing the product: Mr. Gibbs, played by Loren Meharry, sniffs a wine concoction that Martha and Abby Brewster made in their father’s laboratory, hoping Mr. Gibbs wouldn’t taste the poison before his demise.
