Helderberg Seniors, who gathered for their Tuesday luncheon, listen to Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy talk about the new Hilltowns Access program that started in June and brings some county services to the Hilltowns. Several seniors expressed frustration with the county. Asked about the delay in getting internet service, McCoy said it was “signed, sealed, and delivered.” He said the county was waiting on one thing, which he couldn’t state because a reporter was in the room.

Making his case: Daniel McCoy, left, speaks at the senior center in Berne to the Helderberg Seniors about progams he says he is working to get for the Hilltowns. Next to him is Albany County Clerk Bruce Hidley, who is seeking re-election.

Speaking out: Charlotte Fuss vehemently questions Daniel McCoy about the lack of affordable senior housing in the Hilltowns. She said that seniors who want to stay in the Helderbergs are forced to leave, and a county promise to get senior housing wasn’t fulfilled. Fuss is the Senior Citizens Coordinator for the town of Knox.
