Photos: Voorheesville Cross-Country soar in home finale

The Voorheesville Varsity cross-country team faced in their last home duel on senior day at Wallace Park on Tuesday afternoon where they faced Lansingburgh and Catholic Central.

Off and running: Robin Wakeley, second from right, and the Voorheesville Blackbirds raced at Wallace Park in Voorheesville on Senior Night on Tuesday against Lansingburgh and Catholic Central. Wakeley finished second with a time of 22:19 and teammate Sydney Wilson, center, finishes third with a time of 23:08. Sarah Mattfeld, at the far right, running for Catholic Central, lives in Voorheesville. She came in first with a time of 22:08. The Voorheesville girls won, 20 to 43, against Catholic Central and also won against Lansingburgh.

Running quick: Voorheesville’s Evan Ensslin, center, and Matt Tipton, left, cruise past Catholic Central’s James Faraci during Tuesday’s cross-country meet at home in Voorheesville. Ensslin and Tipton finished first and second with times of 17:59 and 18:24 respectively. The Voorheesville boys won against Catholic Central, 19 to 42, and also won against Lansingburgh.
