A big crowd for Homecoming Weekend at Berne-Knox-Westerlo cheered the Helderberg Valley football team to victory under the lights Friday night. The team, in its second year, is made up of players from Duanesburg and BKW.

It was a difference of halves for the Helderberg Valley team as it took on Granville. The first half was all about scoring as Helderberg Valley surged ahead, leading, 28 to 8, at the end of the half. Stephen Soucy runs past Nick Andrus (10) and Josh Oakman (12) to the end zone from a 33-yard pass play by Xander Monroe. Soucy scored twice in the first half, and Monroe threw for 194 yards with four touchdowns and an interception.
