Photos: Dutch Start Strong, Falter In the 2nd Half

Guilderland football played the home opener of the 2021 season on Sept. 17. It was also pop warner night. The “players of tomorrow” joined the varsity team and cheerleaders on the field at halftime. The game started well for the Dutch but they couldn’t muster an offense in the second half and fell to Shenendehowa 23-to-9.

Aiden Chrysler, who plays on the Guilderland varsity football team, was given the Youth Hero Award by the American Legion Auxiliary at Friday Night’s game. Last November, he saved his mother’s life, when she was choking and could not breathe; he performed the Heimlich maneuver.
