Digging in: The Voorheesville volleyball team hasn’t lost a set so far in 2013, the latest win coming over Ichabod Crane at home on Monday. Here, senior Tori Hargrave digs the ball against the Riders. In the match, Nicole Brower had 12 service points and eight kills for Voorheesville. Head Coach Ashley Swint said that tough matches against Schalmont and Fonda are coming up next week. “Honestly, I don’t know about things getting in the way,” she said of the Birds’ winning streak in the Colonial Council. “It’s early.”

Senior Libby Bjork had 25 service points, seven aces, and 20 assists for the Birds (5-0). Voorheesville has played in the Class C state competition for the last three years, and hopes to follow up with another appearance in 2013. “We have the same goals of getting to Glens Falls,” Head Coach Ashley Swint said. “We’ve had a strong start, and everything has been cohesive.”
