Nice and clean: McKownville firefighters hose down their new rescue apparatus as it drives through the parking lot at Executive Park on Saturday afternoon. The ritual dates to the late 19th Century when horses pulled fire wagons and crews would wash and ready the horses and wagon after answering a call.
