Kids helping kids: On Tuesday morning, students from Farnsworth Middle School buy red noses and red-nose pens to raise money to help fight kids’ poverty. Sponsored by Walgreens, the red nose symbolizes the power of entertainment and laughter, organizers say. Guilderland graduate and Guilderland Walgreens manager Nolan Vincent is paying eight cents to each dollar sold at Farnsworth from Tuesday till Thursday. On Wednesday, Jill Dugan, one of the Farnsworth teachers organizing the event, reported, “We raised about $160 today to make the total of two days of Red Nose fundraising of about $320...One more day to go and hope we can finish strong with raising $500 at least for a total!” And did so, raising $502 for the three day fundraiser.
