Guilderland’s Noah Tindale​, left, set a new state record for an eighth-grader in the 1600-meter by winning the race with a time of 4:22.80, beating Shaker senior Thomas Hale by a fraction of a second; Tindale had led most of the way, but Hale made a break down the stretch.

Leanna Alford finished seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.11 seconds.

Bella Bruno competes in the long jump. Also during the championships this week for Guilderland, Noah Carey won first place in the 3200-meter run with a time of 9:30.92, and Emily Burns won the 2000-meter steeplechase while breaking her own school record by almost 10 seconds with a 6:54.62.
