The Voorheesville Blackbirds softball team traveled to Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk for a Colonial Council matchup on Monday. The Blackbirds had a rough time at the plate and lost, 11 to 1.

And the pitch: Voorheesville’s Alyssa Chrysler releases a pitch in the first inning against the RCS Indians. Chrysler went four-and-a-third innings, giving up eight runs and five hits, while walking two and striking out five.

Making a big play: Voorheesville’s Amelia Rowland sprints and extends her left arm as she makes a spectacular catch in left field. Rowland went two for three at the plate. Rowland takes the mound, middle left, as she rushes over to pick up the attempted bunt to throw out the runner.
