Photos: Birds Battle Tigers And Crusaders On The Track

The Voorheesville Blackbirds’ Track n’ Field track traveled to Cohoes High School in Cohoes on Saturday, May 15, for a triangular meet against Cohoes and Catholic Central. The girls’ team swept both schools 94-to-8 against Cohoes and 87-to-25 over Catholic Central. The boys’ team split beating Catholic Central 72-to-35 and fell to Cohoes 67-to-60.

Here and go! Voorheesville’s Mariem Sayahi hands off the baton to Caitlyn McCarthy for the second leg of the girls’ 4 by 800-meter relay. The Blackbirds were the only school to field a team in the relay on Saturday morning at Cohoes. The relay’s time was 10:58.2.

Cleared: Voorheesville’s Anna Hempstead easily leaps over the hurdle on Saturday morning at Cohoes High School in the 400-meter hurdle event. Hempstead won the event with a time of 1:27.7 helping the girls’ team beat both Catholic Central (87-to-25) and Cohoes (94-to-8) in their triangular meet.
