Photos: Guilderland Girls Soar

The Guilderland girls’ track-and-field team won the 53rd annual Colonie Relays Saturday with a score of 131. The Guilderland boys came in sixth with 59 points. The relays included events with three participants and totalled the distance; high jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, discus, shot put and hurdles but also had other running events.

Record time: Guilderland's Hannah Durant clears a hurdle in the three by 100-meter shuttle hurdle. She and her teammates, Josette Muamba and Ify Ojukwu, won with a time of 48.65 and broke the school record.

Power throw: Guilderland’s Olivia Dicarlo powerfully puts her shot during the shot-put relays, finishing second overall with a distance of 34 feet, 11.50 inches. Her relay team finished third with a distance of 92 feet, 7 inches, and broke the school record.

Helping lead the way, Guilderland's Isabella Bruno flies over the bar in the high-jump relay. Bruno won the event overall, clearing 5 foot, 4 inches. She and her teammates, Trinity Kenney and Makiya Donnelly, won the event with a total height of 14 feet, 4 inches.

Putting all of his power into a throw, Guilderland's Clayton Bastiani releases his discus. Bastiani finished seventh overall with a distance of 114 feet, 11 inches and the relay team of Bastiani, Brayden Steen, and Garrett Reihs finished third with a total distance of 329 feet, 5 inches.

Running hard: Guilderland’s Jerrod Buff starts the four by 800-meter relay for the Dutch. The relay team finished second with a time of 8:24.49.

Sliding over: Guilderland’s Madalyn Altieri flies over the bar in the pole-vault relay event at the 53rd annual Colonie Relays at Colonie High School last Saturday. Altieri tied for 12th place as she cleared 7 feet, 6 inches and her relay team finished third with a total height of 22 feet even.

Slippery slope: Guilderland’s Alexis Anagnostopulos falls to the ground after coming out of the pool during the 2000-meter steeplechase. Anagnostopulos finished in eighth place with a time of 7:58.93.
