Photos: Bulldogs Clips Duanesburg On The Track

On Thursday, May 6, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo outdoor track n’ field team hit the track for the first time at home. The Bulldogs took on Western Athletic Conference foe in Duanesburg. BKW led from start to finish. The boys won 66-to-31 and the girls won 57-to-40.

Up and over: Bulldogs’ Locke Gerken leaps over one of the hurdles in the boys 110-meter hurdles. Gerken beat Duanesburg’s Bohelke by one second with a time of 22 seconds.

Clear sailing: BKW’s Ryan Bungay clears the high jump bar set at 4 feet, 3 inches last Thursday. Bungay finished second at a height of 4 foot 9 inches.

By slim margins, BKW’s Kaleigh Conners leaps and clears the high jump bar at 4 feet even. Conners tied for first at a height of 4 feet. The girls beat Duanesburg 57-to-40 last Thursday and the boys also beat Duanesburg 66-to-31.

Clean handoff: BKW’s Brandon Bungay takes the baton from teammate Matt DeMarco in the boys four by 100-meter relay. The Bulldogs won the relay with a time of 53.5.

Off and running: BKW’s Claire Scram was ready to take off after receiving the baton from teammate Karleigh Connors in the girls four by 100-meter relay. The girls team ran by itself and had a time of 58.3 seconds.

Out for a run: BKW’s Michelle Puzulis gets off to a good start in the girls’ 400-meter run. Puzulis won and teammate Katelyn Burtt finished second with times of 1:15 and 1:16 respectively.

Sprint to the finish: BKW’s Claire Scram runs as fast as she can towards the finish as teammate Matt DeMarco follows close behind. Scram finished first in the girls’ event with a time of 3:05 and DeMarco finished second in the boys’ event with a time of 3:13.
