The Voorheesville fifth-graders’ production of "Willy Wonka Jr." will be at the secondary school stage this Friday and Saturday at 7:15 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Willy Wonka, played by Jack Strauss, describes the Everlasting Gobstopper machine to the group of children who won tickets to see his factory and perhaps become his heir. Singing about her desires, Veruca Salt, played by Olivia Sidoti, is backed up by a squirrel holding a nut — which, of course, will be used to make candy. “Willy Wonka Jr.” comes to the Voorheesville Performing Arts Center on May 12 and 13 at 7:15 p.m. and on May 14 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults with a $4 discount for seniors and students.
