Four Guilderland High School students, front and center, are raising puppies for the Canine Companions program, which provides trained service dogs to people with disabilities like Trevor Comeau with his service dog, Dray, on the right. On Saint Patrick’s Day, Emma Harbeck with Hint; Aphroditi Anagnostopoulos with Tex; Danny Gibney with Kennedy; and Tim Faulkner, trainer for the pups with Tashee, they were backed by students from the school’s National Honor Society at a Colonie Center fundraiser for the not-for-profit. The students sold dog toys and baked goods they had made, and visitors could have their pictures taken with the dogs.
