Story of my life: Pinocchio, played by Rieleigh Smith, sits on a stump in Shrek’s swamp during Farnsworth Middle School’s musical production of “Shrek Jr.,” which hits the cafeteria stage this Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Ready for a journey: Donkey, played by Ryan DeSacia, points to the exciting trip that he and Shrek, played by Ian Shaffer, will take to see Lord Farquaad. If Shrek, an ogre, rescues the feisty princess Fiona, Farquaad has promised to remove the fairytale characters from the ogre’s swamp. "Shrek Jr." is coming this weekend to Farnsworth Middle School.

Hoping her prince will come: Fiona, played by Anna Berezansky, rips out papers from her book as she is locked in a tower protected by a dragon in the David Lindsay-Abaire “Shrek Jr.” production this coming weekend at Farnsworth. The princess has a secret curse — she turns into an ogre every night — but true love solves her problem in an odd twist at the play’s end. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Standing up: Shrek, played by Ian Shaffer, left, fights back against the Captain of the Guard, played by Adrian Cummings, and a knight as the captain tries to capture Donkey, played by Ryan DeSacia, and bring him back to the kingdom.
