Strong move: Shane Parry rises to the rim for Voorheesville during its 61-to-59 overtime win against Broadalbin-Perth in the Class B quarterfinals last Friday. The Birds and the Patriots were tied, 55 to 55, after four quarters, and Voorheesville made six of nine free throws in overtime to advance. Parry scored 15 points, Isaiah Meaux had four three-pointers, and Sean Nolan made 10 free throws for the Blackbirds. Colonial Council rival Schalmont awaits Voorheesville in the semifinals on Friday; the game was moved to Hudson Valley Community College from Glens Falls Civic Center because of structural damage to the Civic Center on Wednesday.

Anticipation: Class B defending champion Voorheesville made the semifinals this week with an overtime win over Broadalbin-Perth; it was a rematch of last year’s final. Here, the Blackbirds’ Alex Minnick eyes the basket while ducking under a defender. The Patriots made only six of 17 free throws in the game. Voorheesville plays Schalmont on Friday at 6 p.m. in the semifinals at Hudson Valley Community College; Schalmont was victorious over Voorheesville twice already this season, including a 25-point win on Feb. 6.
