Towering over a Mechanicville opponent is Voorheesville’s Logan Hotaling, who led the Birds with 18 points in the Class B 59-to-47 semifinal win on Tuesday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Voorheesville (20-1), the top seed, and ranked 10th in the state, scored 28 points in the paint on Mechanicville, and grabbed 15 offensive rebounds. The Blackbirds play Broadalbin-Perth on Saturday in the finals at 5:30 p.m.

Keeping focus on defense is Voorheesville senior Dylan Hensel during Tuesday’s 12-point Class B semifinal victory over Mechanicville in Glens Falls. Hensel scored nine points, and Noah Crawford had 16 points. The Blackbirds have size and speed, and haven’t lost since December. The team plays for a sectional title on Saturday; 2005 was the last time it was champion.

Draped: Voorheesville senior Noah Crawford gets fouled on his way to the basket last Friday by Catskill's Dylan Lacy during the Class B quarterfinal, which the Blackbirds won, 64 to 53. Voorheesville, the top seed, made 10 threes and 10 field goals in the game, and Crawford finished with 11 points.

Sky’s the limit: Voorheesville’s leading scorer, Noah Crawford, takes Mechanicville’s Evan Dunn to the hoop during Tuesday’s Class B semifinal at Glens Falls Civic Center. Crawford scored 16 points, and the Birds won, 59 to 47. Voorheesville plays Broadalbin-Perth this Saturday in the finals.
