Formidable foe: Guilderland’s Valencia Fontenelle-Posson defends Colonie’s Ahnalese Pearson in the first half. She had 14 points in the game and made history late in the fourth quarter when she became the second Guilderland girl to score 1,000 points for the Dutch — and she’s a sophomore.

Happy times: Valencia Fontenelle-Posson’s supporters stand at the top of the bleachers in the fourth quarter to show everyone how proud they are she scored 1,000 points. She is the second girl in Guilderland High School history to do so, and she’s a sophomore.
