The second season for the Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls’ and Voorheesville boys’ basketball teams started with a bang this week for play in the Section II, Class C bracket. The BKW girls opened on Saturday evening at home against Lake George and never looked back from the opening tip, winning 67 to 17. The Blackbirds played at home on Tuesday against Hoosic Valley and pulled away late to win, 62 to 45.

Blackbird Anthony Puma had 19 points, all off the bench. Zaveon Little led the Blackbirds with 23 points.

Taylor Meacham led the Bulldogs with 20 points. Reagan Smith had six points. Alexis Wright had 13 points.
