Last Sunday, the BKW indoor track team took part in the section 2, division 4 championships at the University at Albany to move onto the state qualifiers this Sunday

In a fight: Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s Caroline Mundell runs next to Lily Tanner of Stillwater in the first heat of the 600-meter run in the Section 2, Division 4 championships at the University at Albany on Sunday afternoon. Mundell finished 11th with a time of 2:01.83. The girls’ indoor track team finished in 14th place with 4 points; the boys’ team finished in 15th place with 2 points. Kara Sherwin qualified in the 55-meter run and will race Sunday for a trip to states.

She’s off! Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s Kristen Hanley, running in place of her temporarily injured teammate, Samantha Mengel, starts quickly in the Section 2, Division 4, 4 x 200-meter relay at University at Albany on Sunday afternoon. The relay team finished eighth with a time of 2:16.40.

Running tough: BKW’s Michelle Puzulis competes in the Section 2, Division 4, 1500-meter run as she battles a Greenwich runner to get on the inside of the track. Puzulis finished fifth with a time of 5:35.04.

On the run: Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s Brandon Bungay runs in the Section 2, Division 4, 600-meter race as his coach, Berne-Knox-Westerlo alumna Courtney Miedema, shouts encouragement. Bungay finished 16th with a time of 1:53.72.
