The student becomes a teacher: Two years ago, Nick Macerola, of Guilderland, was a culinary student at the Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School. He recently returned to Chef Paul Rother’s classroom as owner of Big Nick’s Pizza on Everett Road to share his knowledge and skills as an expert in dough handling. He had a head start in the business as his family owns and operates Pizza Gram on Western Avenue. Here, Macerola, left, watches as Tessa Thomas and Nikolas Hernandez, CTE students from South Colonie, make pizza dough.
