Photos: Dutch Send Six To Compete At States

On Saturday, Feb. 5, the jumpers and runners of the Guilderland Indoor Track competed to earn spots on the Section 2 team to compete on March 5 for the state competition. Then on Monday, postponed from last Thursday due to weather, the throwers competed. At the end, Guilderland will send six to states.

Punching her ticket: Guilderland’s Maeghan Hickey clears the hurdle with ease in the girls’ 55-meter hurdle as teammate Parker Steele competes. Hickey finished second overall with a time of 9.04 and Steele finished in fifth with a time of 9.61.

Going fast: Guilderland’s Kate Scanlan sprints down the track in the 55-meter dash. Scanlan finished in third, qualifying with meeting the state standards, with a time of 7.41 and also qualified in the 300-meter dash.
