Photos: Springing in Springfield

Track teams from Berne-Knox-Westerlo, Guilderland, and Voorheesville, traveled to Springfield College in Massachusetts on Sunday to take part in the third annual Ed Cepiel Springfield Invite against 25 other teams. The Guilderland boys came in fourth with 36 points and the Dutch girls were fifth with 35 points. Voorheesville didn’t place while BKW finished 27th with 1 point for the girls and none for the boys.

Jumping afar: Bulldog Sean Motschmann, recovering from a knee injury, competed in the triple jump, finishing in 22nd place with a distance of 28 feet, 1 inch; he finished 24th in the long jump with a distance of 14 feet, 4 inches.

Moving fast: Voorheesville’s Gryphon Homer sprints down the backstretch in the first heat of the boys 4-by-200 meter relay. His relay team finished in 22nd place with a time of 1:51.32.

Getting air: Guilderland’s Lauren Reilly leaps toward the pit in the triple jump. Reilly finished 10th with a distance of 31 feet, 9.50 inches.
