Standing proud: Members of the Helderberg American Legion Riders — from left, Al Gaige, Don Gray, Steve Oliver, Tom Krestos, Steve Hamn, and Ron Baldwin — presented 20 winter coats and a check for $5,000 to the Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center’s Volunteer Services Unit on Dec. 16. The money was a part of fundraising efforts throughout the year, and the coats were donated by G-III Apparel Group, Ltd. This is the fourth year the Legion Riders have helped the V.A.’s Volunteers Services Unit, which is not federally funded and relies on donations and grants for its continued operation.
