Photos: Dogs Have Their Day

Playing to a packed gym, Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s basketball teams — both the boys and the girls — were champions at the annual Holiday Tournament they hosted this past weekend at the high school. The girls, facing off against Heatly on Friday evening, had no trouble with the Hornets, winning, 69 to 25, then went on to beat Western Athletic Conference foe Middleburgh and won, 64 to 37. The boys faced off against Cairo-Durham on Friday, clawing to a 59-to-44 win then beat Greenville, 61 to 47, in the title game.
