Rhode Island Dean’s List for the fall 2014 semester

These local students were among the 4,700 named for the fall 2014 semester to the University of Rhode Island Dean's List:

Katie Nickles of Slingerlands;

Emily Jane Welter of Slingerlands;

Danielle Elizabeth Heath of Schenectady;

Gina Villano of Schenectady; and

Hannah N. Willey of Schenectady.

Students who have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average qualify for the dean's list. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.

  • GUILDERLAND — Four Guilderland students have been recognized by the New York State School Music Association for their exemplary performances and were selected for the NYSSMA Conference All-State Music Ensembles:

    — Morgan Dempsey in Mixed Chorus;

    — Aidan Doyle in Instrumental Jazz;

  • GUILDERLAND — Alyssa Grogan, of Guilderland, earned a Ph.D. in molecular medicine from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She successfully defended her thesis, “Investigating the pathophysiological significance of obscurin immunoglobulin domains lg58/59 in the heart.”

  • These local students were named to the dean’s list from their college or university for the spring 2020 semester:

    — Jack Andrew of Schenectady, at State University of New York Morrisville, with a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher; and
