Clarkson University names Presidential Scholars

These local students have been named Presidential Scholars for the fall 2014 semester at Clarkson University:

Timothy Beninati of Berne, a senior majoring in civil engineering;

Victoria Kocsis of Altamont, a senior majoring in biology and biomolecular science;

Gregory Lang of Delmar, a sophomore majoring in computer science;

David Lasselle of East Berne, a freshman majoring in mechanical engineering;

Matthew Reluzco of Schenectady, a sophomore majoring in civil engineering and environmental engineering; and

Victoria Villeneuve of East Berne, a junior majoring in biology.

  • GUILDERLAND — Four Guilderland students have been recognized by the New York State School Music Association for their exemplary performances and were selected for the NYSSMA Conference All-State Music Ensembles:

    — Morgan Dempsey in Mixed Chorus;

    — Aidan Doyle in Instrumental Jazz;

  • These local students were named to the dean’s list from their college or university for the spring 2020 semester:
     

    — Jack Andrew of Schenectady, at State University of New York Morrisville, with a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher; and

  • GUILDERLAND — Alyssa Grogan, of Guilderland, earned a Ph.D. in molecular medicine from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She successfully defended her thesis, “Investigating the pathophysiological significance of obscurin immunoglobulin domains lg58/59 in the heart.”
