Hilltowns Senior News for Wednesday, September 16, 2020
Seniors aged 60 and older are welcome to attend the Helderberg Senior Services lunch program at the Town of Berne Community & Senior Services Center, 1360 Helderberg Trail in Berne. Lunches are served Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
Dining reservations must be made the day before the scheduled meal during the hours of 9 a.m. and noon. To make your reservation, call Karen Stark at 518-937-5963.
Due to COVID-19 health restrictions, the number of guests is limited and no walk-ins will be accepted.
Meals are served at noon and a $3 donation is suggested. Diners will be told what time to arrive, as arrival times are staggered to aid in social distancing. At this time, there are no after-lunch activities.
Following health guidelines, social distancing will be practiced. Everyone must wear a facemask covering their nose and mouth until seated. At the sign-in table, guests will be asked to hand sanitize and their temperature will be checked. Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will not be permitted to stay in the building.
During this initial phase of re-opening, there is only one menu offering. Upcoming menus:
— Friday, Sept. 18: lemon-garlic baked fish, potatoes, spinach and brownie. Monday, Sept. 21: goulash, Italian-blend vegetables and fruit cocktail;
— Tuesday, Sept. 22: baked chicken with mushroom gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans and strawberries; and
— Friday, Sept. 25: potato-crunch fish, mashed potatoes, peas and peaches.
