The Guilderland Senior Services is offering the following activities the week of May 22. Call the senior office at (518)280-7607 with any questions or for information. The new location for senior services is 141 Bavarian Way, Altamont, NY 12009. Transportation’s phone number is (518)356-2920.
— Monday: Scheduled shopping, aerobics at 9 a.m., Strong Bones Plus and senior fitness at 10:30 a.m., and Strong Bones Plus at 1:30 p.m.;
— Tuesday: Strong Bones Plus at 9 a.m., luncheon of breaded chicken or cold plate at 11:30 a.m., and Bingo/Rummikub at 12:30 p.m.;
— Wednesday: Scheduled shopping, senior strength and balance at 9 a.m., Strong Bones Plus and senior fitness at 10:30 a.m., needlecraft at 1 p.m., and Strong Bones Plus at 1:30 p.m.;
— Thursday: Scheduled shopping, Silver Sneakers and Strong Bones Plus at 9 a.m., Silver Sneakers Yoga Stretch at 10 a.m., art and culture trip at 10 a.m., Mahjongg and Pinochle at 12:30 p.m.; and
— Friday: Scheduled shopping, painting at 9:30 a.m., intermediate bridge at 12:30 p.m., and quilting at 1 p.m.
2017 trips selections
The schedule includes:
— July 26 Lake George Dinner Theatre to see Neil Simon’s “Last of the Red Hot Lovers.” Please indicate your lunch choice: Medallions of beef with Bordelaise sauce served with roasted potatoes; Oven baked chicken breast with spinach, artichoke and cream cheese topped with roasted red pepper sauce served with roasted potatoes (gluten free); Broiled Atlantic salmon with lemon and white wine sauce served with rice pilaf (gluten free); and Vegetarian pasta with sautéed vegetables over penne pasta. The cost is $70. The deadline for ticket purchase is June 19. The departure is 10 a.m. and the return is 4:30 p.m.;
— Aug. 1 Tanglewood Lenox, Mass. for Tanglewood on Parade Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops Orchestra, Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra , Charles Dutoit, Moritz Gnann, Keith Lockhart, Bramwell Tovey,& John Williams conductors. Program to include music from Jurassiac Park, Blue Moon and Manhattan, Jaws and Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture. Fireworks to follow concert. Shed tickets are $48. Deadline for ticket purchase is June 12. The departure is 6 p.m. and the return is 11:30 p.m.;
— Sept. 6 Glimmerglass Queen & Otesaga Resort Hotel Cooperstown is full. There is a waiting list.
All registrations must be done by mail or in person and a check should be made payable to town of Guilderland. Please include the reservation form, as well as a self-addressed, stamped envelope

Art show and reception
The town of Guilderland Senior Artists League will be exhibiting their work at the Guilderland Public Library June 3 through 24. You are cordially invited to the opening reception of the exhibit on Saturday, June 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the library located at 2228 Western Ave. Light refreshments will add to the festivity.
Meals on Wheels drivers
Meals On Wheels permanent driver and substitute drivers needed. If you are interested in volunteering “once in awhile” for about an hour and half this is an opportunity for you. Meals are delivered to Guilderland/Altamont residents weekdays. Please call MaryAnn at 280-7607 for further information.

If you have any unwanted or unused wheelchairs, walker or canes, please feel free to drop them off at our Senior Center at 141 Bavarian Way.
