On Tuesday, Feb. 1, the Altamont Seniors will resume  regular lunch meetings, ending the January hiatus due to concerns about the explosion of Omicron COVID cases. Seniors will also meet on Feb. 8 and 15, but not on the 22 at St. Lucy/St. Bernadette Parish Center on Grand Street.

Newcomers who are vaccinated and have had booster shots are welcome. Masks are worn by attendees until seated at tables.

Programs

Seniors who would like to plant daffodil bulbs for a little early spring cheer are asked to bring a 4- or 5-inch size pot or container (plastic pots will be available) on Feb. 1. Soil and bulbs will be provided. A paper bag to carry your planting home would be a good idea.

“True Ghost Stories From Altamont & Surrounds” will be the topic of discussion with local authors Tom Capuano and Thom Breitenbach on Feb. 15 following lunch.

We will hear excerpts from the book as well as background on how the authors came to write their collection of stories. Books will be available for purchase.

Visitors are welcome to join us for the program, following masking protocol, at about 1:15 p.m.
