Laugh and breathe deeply to relieve stress

The Albany Jewish Community Center offers a series of six Laughter Yoga classes, open to the community and held in the Albany JCC’s Massry Senior Center at 340 Whitehall Road.

The hour-long sessions will be held on Tuesdays, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., on Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 and Nov. 5.

“Laughter Yoga is just deep breathing, the willingness to let go, reconnecting with our childlike nature and laughing,” said the certified instructor, Larry Steffler, in a release from the Albany JCC. The release also says thousands of people in more than 68 countries do Laughter Yoga.

Prepaid registration of $45 is required. For more information, call the Albany JCC’s senior adult office at 438-6651, ext. 112, or e-mail Claire Sigal, director of the Senior Adult Program, at ClaireS@saajcc.org.
