Macklin receives President’s Award

NEW SCOTLAND — James Macklin of Voorheesville, the director of planning and research at Hudson Valley Community College, was recently honored with the President’s Award for Excellence in College Service.

Macklin joined the professional staff of Hudson Valley in 1980. For the past 34 years, he has been providing research and data to help the college’s planning and budget processes. He was a member of the most recent campus-wide steering committee for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education self-study and reaccreditation process.

Five other faculty and staff members were named recipients of the President’s Award for Excellence for 2014. The award is given to those who have shown exemplary service to the college and its students. Honorees are nominated by students and colleagues.
