The Westerlo Library is challenging readers to create a Halloween costume for James Patterson by adorning the author photos on his books.

Check out a James Patterson book and give his author photo a Halloween costume! All artwork will be displayed until Halloween.

The Great Give Back

has been extended

The Westerlo Library will be participating in The Great Give Back by collecting toiletries for the Hilltown Community Resource Center. Bring your donations of toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, etc. to the library. We have a collection box and will deliver it to the resource center at the end of the month.

Calling all bakers!

The Westerlo Library is holding an Election Day Bake Sale on Nov. 2. You can help by baking for the bake sale. Give us a call 518-797-3415, email or sign up at the library.

Discover Dairy

The Westerlo Library is participating in the Discover Dairy program. We have been assigned a calf to follow for six months. Our calf is Darby from Dutch Hollow Farm. She was born on Sept. 24. More info to come!

Expired card?

If your library card has expired, give the library a call at 518-797-3415, update your information and we will get you back in business.

Back-to-school help

The theme for the October STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) kits is Physics Fun.  In addition to our weekly STEAM take-and-make packets, we have a packet available that is designed to help families of school-aged children.

It contains sight words for children in pre-kindergarten through third grade; Order of Operation (PEMDAS — Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division (from left to right), Addition and Subtraction (from left to right) rules; multiplication and division tables; rules for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing positive and negative numbers; and rules for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions.

If there are other topics that you would like us to cover, feel free to contact us at youth@westerlolibrary.org.
