Back-to-school help

The theme for the October STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) kits is Physics Fun.  In addition to our weekly STEAM take-and-make packets, we have a packet available that is designed to help families of school-aged children.

It contains sight words for children in pre-kindergarten through third grade; Order of Operation (PEMDAS — Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division (from left to right), Addition and Subtraction (from left to right) rules; multiplication and division tables; rules for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing positive and negative numbers; and rules for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions.

If there are other topics that you would like us to cover, feel free to contact us at youth@westerlolibrary.org.
