Westerlo Library Notes for Wednesday, October 7, 2020

The library will be open on Columbus Day, Oct. 12, this year for porch pick-up and in-library browsing. We will continue to promote the safety of our staff and patrons by ensuring everyone properly wears a face mask, washes their hands before browsing, social distances, and keeps to four patrons in the library at a time. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation!

 Book club

The Third Thursday @ 7 Book Club is Back! This month’s book is “The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry” by Gabrielle Zevin. I selected it because I thought we all may need something a bit uplifting to read. I hope you enjoy it and look forward to hearing what you thought of the book and the characters on Oct. 15.

Spicing Things Up

I hope you had a chance to pick up one of our Spicey Take-and-Makes this past week! If you haven’t, give us a call and ask if we still have some left. It includes the ingredients for some soothing Golden Milk and extra turmeric for two other recipes that are included or any other recipes that you may want to try. Later this month you will have an opportunity to share photos of your recipes on the library’s facebook page and meet virtually to talk about what recipes you tried.

 Make animals

This month’s Take-and-Make kits for our students are all about animals this month. Each week will focus on a new and unusual animal for you to learn about. So stop by the library each week to pick up a new kit or you can email and request to have it put out on the porch for a pick up.

 Technology Wednesdays

Do you have a new smartphone or tablet, but don’t know how to download digital materials?  Call or make an appointment to see Amy on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for free, personalized, one-on-one instruction. 518-797-3415 at the library.
