Westerlo Library Notes for Wednesday, October 2, 2019

The heavy equipment was at the Westerlo Library all day Friday and Saturday to prepare the library for its improved parking lot. We had some hearty patrons that made their way to our side entrance and were able to check out materials.

Thank you to everyone for your patience as we are under construction. The outcome of more and improved parking will be well worth the wait. This work would not be possible without a New York State construction grant that the library received.

Board meets

The board of trustees will be holding a special meeting on Monday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the library. The meeting is open to the public.

Dog-tober

Shorty, a registered therapy dog, will be visiting the library on the following Mondays Oct. 7, 21, and 28 at 4 p.m. Come celebrate Dog-tober and relax with Shorty. He loves to be petted, is a great listener and a very sweet dog.

Fall display

It is officially fall! We have our fall and Halloween children’s books and videos on display. Come check out an old favorite or find a new holiday favorite to share with your family.

Technology Walk-In Wednesdays

Do you have a new smartphone or tablet, but don’t know how to download digital materials?  Need to brush up on your computer skills – or obtain basic skills? See Amy on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for free, personalized, one-on-one instruction.

Lego Club

Do you like playing with Legos? How tall of a tower can you make? Can you design a secret hideaway for your favorite superhero?

Drop in on Monday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. to play and create with Legos. Miss Lee is also available for homework help.

Story time

Join Miss Lee Wednesday mornings beginning at 11 a.m. for stories, songs, and movement activities designed for infants to children up to five years old. Storytime is a great opportunity for caregivers and young children to meet new friends and start on the road of a lifelong love of reading.
