Westerlo Library Notes for Wednesday, September 30, 2020

The Third Thursday @ 7 Book Club is back! The club will discuss “The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry” by Gabrielle Zevin at its October meeting.

Good Reads describes it as “an unforgettable tale of transformation and second chances, an irresistible affirmation of why we read, and why we love.”

Please join  the meeting from your computer, tablet or smartphone. Sign in on Oct. 15 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at: https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/248803077

You can also dial in using your phone: United States: +1 (872) 240-3212; Access Code: 248-803-077.

Spicing things up!

Coming Oct. 5, you will be able to pick up a sample of the spice turmeric as a take and make. Recipes will be included to try. Supplies are limited! We will have an opportunity to share photos of our recipes on the library’s facebook page and meet virtually to talk about what recipes we tried.

Homework

help is here

We are now offering hours that will cater to families with children who want homework help or are home schooling. Mondays from 2 to 3 p.m. and Thursdays and Fridays from 6 to 7 p.m. are now reserved for families and older students to come in and get homework help. These hours will allow families to come in, while wearing face coverings for the protection of our staff, and use the WiFi inside on their own devices.

Technology Wednesdays

Do you have a new smartphone or tablet, but don’t know how to download digital materials? Call 518-797-3415 or make an appointment to see Amy on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for free, personalized, one-on-one instruction at the library.
