Westerlo Library Notes for Saturday, August 27, 2016

The Westerlo library’s quilting group will meet this Saturday, Aug. 27, at 11 a.m. at the library.  Members show and share techniques, gadgets, projects and ideas. You may get help with problems or inspiration. Bring any fabric or fiber (knit, crochet, weaving, etc.) project to show. We would love to see what you can do.

Led by Lila Hollister Smith, the group is open to all crafters who use fibers and textiles at all skill levels.  The group meets once a month on the fourth Saturday of each month and new members are welcome.

Anniversary quilt

Help us continue to celebrate the library’s 30th anniversary by sharing the title of your favorite book.

Sponsored by the Westerlo Quilting Group, the first quilted book shelf is in the display case. As the titles are added to the quilt, more shelves will be added. Eventually, they will all be pieced together to make one wall hanging to mark the library’s 30 years of service to the town of Westerlo.

Summer reading

Our 2016 summer reading program will wrap up on Wednesday, Aug. 31. Don’t miss out on the fun. A full calendar of events is available at the link on our website www.westerlolibrary.org.  Bring in your reading logs for free books and Stewart’s Shops ice cream coupons.

Technology walk-in Wednesday

Do you have a new Kindle or Nook but don’t know how to download books? Need to brush up on your computer skills or obtain basic skills? See Amy on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., for free, personalized, one-on-one instruction.
