Westerlo Library Notes for Wednesday, August 20, 2014
We will celebrate the end of the 2014 Summer Reading Program on Friday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m., with an ice cream social. Make your own sundaes or get into the spirit of our theme with an ice cream float – FIZZ! Thank you for joining us as we explored how science influences almost every aspect of our lives.
We’d also like to thank our sponsors: Stewart’s Shops, Bruegger’s Bagels, Applebee’s, Cornell Cooperative Extension Service, and the Upper Hudson Library System.
Hilltowns Community
Resource Center
Your donations of school supplies to the Hilltowns Community Resource Center will help kids start the new school year ready to learn. Donations are accepted at the library during regular business hours.
Book discussion group
Instead of taking our usual summer hiatus, we’re going to lighten up, and read for pure pleasure. We will meet today, Thursday, Aug. 21, at 7 p.m., to discuss Beautiful Day by Elin Hilderbrand. Please join us. New members are welcomed.
Quilting group
The Quilting Group will meet on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. Lead by Lila Hollister Smith, the group is open to all skill levels. The group meets the second and fourth Saturday of each month and new members are welcomed.
Technology Walk-In Wednesday
Do you have a new Kindle or Nook, but don’t know how to download books? Need to brush up on your computer skills or obtain basic skills? See Amy on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., for free, personalized, one-on-one instruction.
