July and August’s theme for STEAM take-and-makes is “Oceans of Possibilities” to go along with the Summer Programs. There are new kits every week.

 ZOOM Art program

Check our website (westerlolibrary.org) for the link to register for a virtual art program, Paint the Sound: Music and Art, on Aug. 17  at 1 p.m. The program can be done remotely on Zoom or at the library in the community room on the big screen.

How can you paint the rhythm of a drum or the sound of a piano? This live Zoom tour and workshop will explore the ways in which modern artists such as Pollock, Matisse, Bearden, and others were inspired by the Jazz Age. Following a presentation and tour of the barn studio, work alongside an art educator as she demonstrates techniques for creating abstract art inspired by music. Have paint, drawing, or collage supplies on hand.
