Westerlo Library Notes for Thursday, July 12, 2018
Lefty will be back at the Westerlo Library on Friday, July 13, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Drop in to “Check it out!” and read with Lefty. (Librarians love saying, “Check it out.”)
Lefty is a registered therapy dog. Our thanks to Eric Markson for volunteering his time and sharing Lefty with us.
Memoir Writing Group
The Memoir Writing Group will meet this Saturday, July 14, at 11 a.m. This group provides its members a safe and supportive place to learn together.
Led by Lila Hollister Smith, this group is open to all who are interested in self-expression through the art of writing. The group meets once a month on the second Saturday of each month and new members are welcome.
Book talk
The library’s book discussion group will meet next Thursday, July 19, at 7 p.m. at the library. It’s summertime and the reading is easy!
Read for pure pleasure and share your favorites with the group. Please join us. New members are welcome.
Summer Reading Program
Our 2018 Summer Reading Program has begun. With the theme “Libraries Rock!” we will offer a range of activities for all ages that encourage us to grow, connect, and create with books, arts and craft projects, science experiments, and special events.
Build and create with Lego Club on Mondays from 3 to 5 p.m.; Story Time on Wednesdays from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a drop-in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) Lab from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; and on Thursdays, Family Game Night is back, from 5 to 7 p.m.
It’s never too late to join in. Stop in, sign up, and get our brochure of programs and special events planned for July and August. A full calendar of programs is also at the Summer Reading link on our website – www.westerlolibrary.org
Technology Walk-In Wednesdays
Do you have a new smartphone or tablet, but don’t know how to download digital materials? Need to brush up on your computer skills — or obtain basic skills?
See Amy on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for free, personalized, one-on-one instruction.
