Westerlo Library Notes for Tuesday, July 3, 2018

The Board of Westerlo Library Trustees will meet on Monday, July 9, at 7 p.m. at the library.  This is an open public meeting.

Pet care

Come and meet some pets and learn to care for them on Thursday, July 12, at 6:30 p.m., in a program presented by Eileen M. DePaula, 4-H program educator from the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Albany County.

Read to Lefty

Lefty will be back Friday, July 13, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.  Drop in to “Check it out!” and read with Lefty. (Librarians love saying, “Check it out.”)

Lefty is a registered therapy dog.  Our thanks to Eric Markson for volunteering his time and sharing Lefty with us.

Summer Reading Program

Our 2018 Summer Reading Program has begun. With the theme “Libraries Rock!” we will offer a range of activities for all ages that encourage us to grow, connect, and create with books, arts and craft projects, science experiments, and special events.

Build and create with Lego Club on Mondays from 3 to 5 p.m.; Story Time on Wednesdays from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a drop-in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) Lab from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; and on Thursdays, Family Game Night is back, from 5 to 7 p.m.

It’s never too late to join in. Stop in, sign up, and get our brochure of programs and special events planned for July and August. A full calendar of programs is also at the Summer Reading link on our website – www.westerlolibrary.org

Do you have a new smartphone or tablet, but don’t know how to download digital materials? Need to brush up on your computer skills — or obtain basic skills?
