Westerlo Library Notes for Wednesday, May 18, 2022

The Westerlo Library is delighted to announce Eleanor Patton is exhibiting her work in the Hannay Community Room Gallery Space. Eleanor, a resident of Westerlo, works in pastels, pencil, watercolors, and collages.

Her exhibit will be displayed for the months of May and June. The gallery space is open during regular library hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2 to 7 p.m., and Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Book Club

The book club will meet on May 19 at 6 p.m., in the library, to discuss “The Children’s Blizzard” by Melanie Benjamin. Copies are available at the library. Come join the discussion.

May Spice

Take-and-Make

The May spice is marjoram. Pick up a sample and 3 recipes at the library. This month’s recipes are green peas soup without meat, Turkish chickpea salad and turkey meatloaf.

Garden program

The seeds are ready for pick up.The garden program theme is “Color.” You can pick up a collection of easy to grow seeds for vegetables and flowers in unusual colors. It’s almost time to plant the warm weather crops.

STEAM ahead 

May’s theme for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) take-and-makes is “Welcome Spring-Part 2!” There are new kits every week. Homework Help packets are still available too. If there are any topics you need help with, email or call thelLibrary 518-797-3415.
