Westerlo Library Notes for Wednesday, April 27, 2022

Mom deserves some treats. May 7 is the date for the Annual Mother’s Day Weekend Bake Sale at the Westerlo Library. Stop in and get some goodies to celebrate Mom from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m .(regular library hours).

May Spice

Take-and-Make

The May spice is marjoram. Pick up a sample and three recipes at the library. This month’s recipes are Green Peas Soup without Meat, Turkish Chickpea Salad, and Turkey Meatloaf.

Third Thursday

Book Club

The Third Thursday Book Club will meet on May 19 at 6 p.m. in the library, to discuss “The Children’s Blizzard” by Melanie Benjamin. You can pick up a copy of the book at the Westerlo Library and join the discussion.

Garden program

The seeds are ready for pick-up. The garden program theme is “Color.” You can pick up a collection of easy-to-grow seeds for vegetables and flowers in unusual colors. Pea planting starts now!

STEAM ahead

May’s theme for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) take-and-makes is “Welcome Spring-Part 2!” There are new kits every week. Homework Help packets are still available too. If there are any topics you need help with, email or call the library 518-797-3415
