The Welcoming Library, a rotating collection from the Upper Hudson Library System, is now at the Westerlo Library
Bakers wanted! May 7 is the date for the Annual Mother’s Day Weekend Bake Sale! Volunteer bakers are needed. The library provides containers. Email or sign up in the library to support programs.
Peep!
Join us for the Second Annual Peep-a-thon! Stop by the library and pick up your Peeps. Make a sculpture or diorama using the Peeps to represent your favorite book.
Submit your work by bringing it by the library to have it photographed or send a picture via email to until April 23. Photos will be displayed on the library website and Facebook page.
New picture
book collection
The library has a new rotating collection of picture books. Come see the Welcoming Library! The collection contains picture books about different experiences of new neighbors in our communities.
Garden program
The seeds are ready for pick-up. The garden program theme is “Color.” You can pick up a collection of easy-to-grow seeds for vegetables and flowers in unusual colors. Pea planting starts now!
Third Thursday
Book Club
The book club is reading “The Ten Thousand Doors of January” by Alix Harrow. National Public Radio says Harrow’s debut novel “is one for the favorites shelf.” You can pick up a copy at the library. The book club will meet April 21 at 6 p.m., in the library to discuss the book.
STEAM ahead
April’s theme for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) take-and-makes is “Welcome Spring!” There are new kits every week. Homework Help packets are still available too. If there are any topics you need help with, email .
April Spice
Take-and-Make
The April spice is mustard. Pick up a sample and three recipes at the library. This month’s recipes are Creamy Green Cauliflower Soup with Parsley Sauce, Cheddar Zucchini Pie, and Juicy Pork Burgers with Dried Apricots and Grainy Mustard.
